Options for Electronic Conferencing Services
For businesses to run in a more effective and cost efficient manner, company owners are turning to solutions such as electronic conferencing services. Because of such high demand, these services have grown significantly in the past few years. The benefit is that business owners can still conduct daily operations with customers, vendors, suppliers, employees, bankers, and other professionals without ever leaving the office. In other words, with electronic conferencing, people from around the world can join an online meeting, which allows better business practices but also reduces the cost of travel dramatically.
While these services for conferencing provide the same solution, each business owner has different needs, so looking at the various options and choosing the right electronic solution is important. All businesses could benefit from services such as these electronic conference calls but most commonly, companies that have regular teleconferences or remote offices use them.
With conferencing services, business owners have two primary choices. The first is a straightforward phone conversation, allowing people around the globe to dial into a special toll-free number, gaining access with a PIN code. For conferencing that involves a large number of people, this type of electronic communication works quite well.
The second option for conference services is face-to-face meetings, using video/audio software and a computer. In this case, people from around the world could connect to the conference site but have the ability conduct in-person business while on the computer. Because this is the more intimate of conferencing services available, it typically works best for a smaller number of members.
To accomplish both of these electronic conferencing solutions, people can choose what is known as “reservation-less” or “operator assisted” service. In the first case, the conferencing is where people dialing into a phone would use the pin code provided and then be connected with all the other callers or for video conferencing, use a code to connect online. In the case of operator assisted services, the electronic connection would occur for phone or computer with the aid of a live person.
Both of these conferencing services have advantages and disadvantages. For the reservation-less option, people on the call would use a toll-free number or provided Internet site, which makes this affordable. The downside is that no one person has control over the conference. With the operator assisted option, the services would have to be paid for but the operator would have control over the people connecting, often takes minutes, and can provide services such as time of conference, names of people online, and if someone joins that gets out of control, the operator could silence that person.
